OPTION 1 – 2021 Classic Black Opal Tour – Duration 3 or 4 hours
Morning or Afternoon at your place of accommodation, our guide will collect your group.
- Glimpse camp lifestyles Fred Bodel’s hut – oldest miners’ camp in Lightning Ridge
- Historic Three Mile Flat – site of early opal miners’ settlement
- Lunatic Hill Open Cut – largest open cut opal mine in NSW; Hear the history of our opal-bearing ridges amongst the black soil plains
- View largest opal agitator ever built and opal mining equipment.
- Fossick for opal on our own site that’s ‘topped up’ regularly for our visitors
- Morning or afternoon Devonshire Tea fresh scones with jam and cream, tea or coffee served at the peaceful surrounds of Platform 1, Historic Train Carriages
- View opal cutting demonstration and private collection of opal and opal jewellery.
